36 administrative reports and a missing girl found: how City Day in Mykolaiv unfolded

12 September during the celebration of the 237th anniversary of the founding of Mykolaiv the police drew up 36 administrative reports. At the same time, no significant public order violations occurred in the city, and on the central street officers found a minor resident of Voznesensk who had been reported missing.

Cultural, creative, sporting, entertainment and other themed events for residents and guests took place at various locations across the regional center. Law enforcement paid most attention to the central part of Mykolaiv and places of large gatherings.

Officers from various police units and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine were involved in maintaining order. They stood guard at festive locations, monitored compliance with established rules and were to respond promptly to any changes in the situation. Police explosives technicians and cynologists also inspected designated areas, checking them for dangerous or suspicious objects.

Separately, law enforcement controlled the safety of children and youth. Officers of the juvenile prevention unit of the Mykolaiv District Police Department were on duty in popular youth gathering places, talked with minors, monitored their leisure activities and responded to possible violations.

Administrative reports were drawn up for the following detected offenses:

violations of trade and service provision rules;
smoking in prohibited places;
consumption of alcoholic beverages where prohibited by law;
persons appearing in public places while intoxicated;
sale of alcoholic beverages to minors;
causing minors to become intoxicated;
failure of parents or guardians to fulfill their child-rearing duties.

For each case, officers prepared materials under the relevant articles of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.

The police noted that the joint work of the involved units, constant monitoring of the situation and the responsible behavior of residents and guests made it possible to hold the celebration without significant violations. Officers thanked the city’s residents and guests for their understanding, responsibility, mutual respect and law-abiding behavior.
