Each ministry will appoint an official responsible for veterans

In each ministry and other central executive body of Ukraine, a deputy must be appointed who will be personally responsible for implementing the state veterans policy. The decision of the Cabinet of Ministers was reported by the Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Vitalii Kim.

This refers to a deputy minister or deputy head of the respective body. He will coordinate the veterans direction within the work of his agency.

As Vitalii Kim explained, support for veterans concerns not only the relevant ministry. It covers:

• employment;
• education;
• healthcare and rehabilitation;
• social protection;
• accessibility;
• the work of territorial communities.

Assigning specific responsible persons, according to the minister, should speed up interaction between state bodies and help coordinate decisions concerning veterans and their families.

The Cabinet of Ministers also updated the composition of the Coordinating Headquarters for the implementation of state veterans policy. Its work and interaction between agencies will be coordinated by two co-chairs:

• the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine — the Minister of Energy;
• the Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.

In addition, the representation of the ministries and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the composition of the Coordinating Headquarters has been changed.

Vitalii Kim emphasized that this mechanism should synchronize the work of all state bodies around the priorities of veterans policy defined by the president and the prime minister. It is expected that the adopted decisions will ensure concrete results for veterans, female veterans and their families.
