In Mykolaiv, they are exploring the possibility of free parking for participants in hostilities (UBD)

In Mykolaiv, they are considering introducing free use of paid parking for participants in combat operations. This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.

The initiative was proposed to be considered on 26 August during a meeting of the city council’s executive committee. The proposal was put forward by Mykyta Plekhanov.

The possible benefit is being considered as one of the additional ways for the city to show support and gratitude to Ukrainian military personnel.

Deputy mayor Yurii Andrienko noted that the issue is already being worked out jointly with the paid parking operator. Specialists are seeking a solution that would allow identification of vehicles belonging to participants in combat operations without the need for driver involvement, and are also studying the relevant experience of other cities.

City departments were instructed to determine exactly how the new benefit will function. In particular, they should work out:

• the procedure for confirming the status of a participant in combat operations;
• the method of identifying the vehicle without driver involvement;
• the mechanism for direct free parking at paid parking facilities.

Earlier, there were reports about additional leave for participants in combat operations in 2026, the rules for granting it, and the main changes.
