In Poland, a 41-year-old woman attacked a 13-year-old Ukrainian girl because of her language

In the Polish city of Siedlce, an attack occurred on a 13-year-old girl from Ukraine. According to the Masovian Voivodeship police, the incident was committed by a 41-year-old local resident who was intoxicated.

The woman heard the child speaking Ukrainian, after which she began insulting her because of her nationality. Then she grabbed the girl by the hair and dragged her.

The victim’s mother reported the incident to law enforcement. Police reviewed surveillance camera footage and identified the attacker. The woman was detained and questioned, but during questioning she could not explain her actions.

The prosecutor’s office chose police supervision as a preventive measure for the suspect. She was also prohibited from approaching the girl closer than 50 meters.

For the attack and insults committed on the basis of nationality, the woman faces up to five years in prison.
