Near Kyiv, at an acrobatics studio, a Black mother and her daughter were humiliated
Police have identified the woman involved in the conflict
In the village of Kryukivshchyna in the Kyiv region, a visitor to a children’s acrobatics studio began insulting a Black woman and her 6-year-old daughter. The incident occurred before a training session, and a small child witnessed the racist remarks.
The studio owner, Threads user @nastya_aldakimova, told about the conflict. According to her, the mother brought her daughter to the class when another visitor approached them near the entrance. At first she asked why the woman was in Ukraine, and later moved on to aggressive insults because of her origin.
The victim said that the stranger called her «the problem of the whole world», and then said:
«Go back to Africa to eat bananas».
The woman tried to avoid further argument and entered the studio with the child. However, the visitor followed them and continued the insults. She claimed that there were «Africans» in front of her and that they should not be served.
On the video shared on social media, you can hear one of the participants in the conflict say:
«I saw Africans».
She also demanded that the mother and child leave the studio, and stated:
«They are not Ukrainians».
The owner of the establishment warned the woman that she would call the police, and later contacted law enforcement. The video of the conflict quickly spread on social networks. According to @nastya_aldakimova, the police have already identified the visitor and her place of residence.
The victim noted that she was particularly affected by the public insults because of her daughter’s presence: the child was frightened by what was happening. The woman said she has lived in Ukraine for many years, built her life here and gave birth to two daughters. She describes herself as a Black Ukrainian.
«This experience will never change my love and respect for Ukrainians,» the woman wrote.
After the story was made public, she received many messages of support from Ukrainians. The woman emphasized that such situations concern every foreigner living in Ukraine and that they deserve respect.
There is currently no official information about any potential responsibility of the participant in the conflict. Meanwhile, the studio owner says that the police are already working on the case.
