In Mykolaiv, the police carried out an evening raid with special forces and canine handlers
Law enforcement officers checked places where young people gathered and drew up administrative reports for smoking and drinking alcohol
In Mykolaiv, the police carried out another evening operation in public places. Law enforcement officers checked streets and locations where young people most often gather, and also held preventive talks with teenagers.
The event involved officers from the regional police department’s preventive activity unit, juvenile prevention inspectors, the preventive activity unit of the Mykolaiv District Police Department, patrol officers, special forces and canine handlers with service dogs.
The raid was organized to ensure public safety, prevent administrative offenses and carry out preventive work with minors who are out late on the city’s streets. Police spoke with teenagers and explained to them that administrative and criminal liability is provided for certain offenses.
Juvenile prevention officers emphasized: minors under 18 years of age are prohibited from being on the street after 22:00 without adult supervision. Adults were reminded by law enforcement that the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places is prohibited.
Separately, during the operation attention was paid to compliance with martial law requirements. Residents of Mykolaiv were urged not to be on the street during the curfew unless necessary and to take responsibility for their own safety.
During the raid the police also applied administrative measures. Administrative materials were drawn up for people who smoked in prohibited places under Article 175-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (KUpAP). Documents were also issued regarding citizens who consumed alcohol in public places.
Some offenders had already been held liable again during the year for consuming alcohol in public places. In such cases it concerned parts 1 and 2 of Article 178 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (KUpAP).
The police reminded that in Mykolaiv the curfew operates from 00:00 to 05:00. During this period it is prohibited to be on the streets and in other public places, as well as to travel around the city by any means of transport.
Law enforcement officers urged the residents of Mykolaiv to comply with the established restrictions and safety rules.
