Residents of frontline towns were urged to refrain from visiting large shopping centers due to the threat of strikes
Russian forces have already attacked "Epicenter" and the "Sunny Gallery" in Kryvyi Rih
Residents of Ukraine’s frontline cities were urged, if possible, not to visit large shopping centers due to the threat of new Russian strikes. The corresponding warning was voiced by the head of the Defense Council of Kryvyi Rih Oleksandr Vilkul.
He reported that Russian forces have already struck two large shopping complexes in Kryvyi Rih — “Epicenter” and “Sun Gallery”. According to intelligence, other large shopping centers in frontline cities, including in Kryvyi Rih itself, may also be at risk.
Oleksandr Vilkul urged residents, if possible, to refrain from visiting large shopping malls. If a trip cannot be canceled, he recommends choosing shopping centers with equipped shelters and, after an air raid alert is announced, to be sure to go to them.
The head of the city Defense Council also reminded that in Kryvyi Rih there are regional and city Defense Council decisions that prohibit commercial establishments from operating during an air raid alert. According to him, on July 29 this requirement was delivered in writing to more than 100 entrepreneurs and shop owners, including the management of the “Sun Gallery”.
“And shifting responsibility for this onto visitors and tenants is wrong. In the “Sun Gallery” there was also an announcement about an air raid alert over loudspeakers 20 minutes before the explosion yesterday. But the shops were open, people were in those shops, and few went to the shelter,” the statement said.
Oleksandr Vilkul stressed that compliance with these rules and timely movement to shelters during an alert can save people’s lives.
Earlier it was reported that the number of victims of the attack on Kryvyi Rih rose to 16. Rubble clearance is ongoing. New photographs have also emerged from the site of the Russian strike on the shopping center in Kryvyi Rih.
