Woman killed, children injured and vessels damaged: consequences of attacks on the Mykolaiv region

On August 3 and during the night of August 4, 2026, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv Oblast with Shahed strike drones and an FPV drone. The consequences of the shelling as of the morning of August 4 were reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

During the day the port infrastructure of Mykolaiv came under attack. Three civilian vessels were damaged.

At night Russian forces attacked the city again. As a result of the strike an 89-year-old woman was killed, and seven more people were injured. Wounds were sustained by girls aged 2 and 12. They were hospitalized, but will continue treatment as outpatients. Acute stress reactions were experienced by four women aged 70, 72, 80 and 83, as well as by an 81-year-old man. Medical assistance was provided to them on site.

As a result of the attack two private homes were destroyed, and seven more houses were damaged. A car and windows in three apartment buildings were also damaged.

In the Halytsynivska community a fire broke out in a warehouse after a Shahed strike. In addition, Russian forces attacked the Kutsurub community with an FPV drone.
