We've finally got a smooth road: the hazardous stretch in the Korabelnyi district has been repaired
Caused dangerous situations: an outdated traffic island was removed on Metalurhiv Street
In Mykolaiv 16 July 2026 a comprehensive repair of a damaged section of Metalurgiv Street in the Korabelnyi District – from Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue to Peizazhna Street – was completed.
Specialists from the municipal enterprise “ELU Avtodorih” completed the full cycle of road works. First, the worn and damaged pavement on the section was milled, after which repair maps were prepared and treated with bitumen emulsion for better adhesion of materials.
After preparing the base, the road workers laid a new layer of hot asphalt concrete. The final stage was compacting the pavement with a road roller to ensure its strength and resistance to traffic loads.
On this part of Metalurgiv Street a traffic island was also dismantled during the repairs. As the municipal workers explained, the structure no longer corresponded to modern traffic organization and could create dangerous situations for drivers.
Already 17 July 2026 repair crews of the municipal enterprise “ELU Avtodorih” moved to another section. Currently work is being carried out on Avangardna Street – from Bohoyavlenskyi Avenue to Zaliznychna Street.
Drivers are urged to be especially careful near road machinery, to comply with temporary signs, and to plan their routes in advance, taking into account possible traffic complications.
