Subscription fees inflated for years: Mykolaiv CHP fined for abusive practices
The enterprise was fined 68 thousand
PJSC “Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant” applied an inflated subscription fee for consumers of thermal energy for almost four years.
On 16 July 2026 reported the Southern Interregional Territorial Department of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
During state control over compliance with legislation on the protection of economic competition, it was established that the company, by orders, determined and applied an inflated amount of the subscription fee per consumer.
The violation lasted from 1 November 2021 to 31 October 2025. Components not provided for by legislation were included in the fee calculation, which caused consumers to incur unjustified additional financial expenses.
The actions of PJSC “Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant” were recognized as an abuse of a monopolistic position in the market for the supply of thermal energy. The company violated paragraph 2 of Article 50 and the first part of Article 13 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Protection of Economic Competition”.
As a result of the case review, PJSC “Mykolaiv Thermal Power Plant” was fined 68 thousand hryvnias.
At the same time, residents of the Korabelnyi district contacted the editorial office of “Korabeliv.Info”, complaining about unclear summer charges in bills from OKP “Mykolaivoblteploenergo” and demanding that the company explain what these amounts consist of. The justification of such charges should also be the subject of an inspection by the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.
