Silver, bronze and places in the national team's reserve: success of young athletes from Mykolaiv
Silver and two bronzes: a woman from Mykolaiv won three medals at the Ukrainian Championships
The athletes of the Mykolaiv Specialized Youth Sports School of Olympic Reserve (SDYUSSHOR) in rowing won silver and bronze medals at the Ukrainian Rowing Championships for juniors under 19, which took place from June 25 to 28, 2026. The athletes’ achievements were reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.
In the boat class “coxed four (sweep)” the silver medalists were
- Олександр Німенко,
- Олександр Богдан,
- Андрій Селіхов,
- Андрій Петельчиц,
- coxswain – Олексій Присяженко.
Immediately three medals were won by Поліна Калашник. The athlete earned
- a silver medal in the boat class “double sculls”,
- a bronze medal — in the “single scull”
- and another bronze in a class new to Ukraine — “mixed double sculls”.
In the mixed crew, together with Поліна Калашник competed Ярослав Маспанов-Чорний. As a result of the competitions he met the qualifying standard and earned the title of Candidate for Master of Sport of Ukraine. Based on the championship results, all the aforementioned Mykolaiv rowers earned the right to join the reserve squad of the Ukrainian National Rowing Team for 2027. The athletes were prepared for the competitions by coaches Юрій Павленко, Христина Поддубна and Олександр Вепрев.
