The stadium «Molodizhny» at Sports School No. 5 in the Korabelnyi district of Mykolaiv has remained flooded for several months. Despite residents’ appeals, officials’ discussions of the problem and promises to help with pumping, the water on the territory of the sports facility has not gone away.

Local residents again reported the situation, showing that a significant part of the stadium’s territory remains underwater.

They have to pump out the water themselves, buy gasoline and repair equipment at their own expense.

According to people, representatives of “Mykolaivvodokanal” had previously promised to join the pumping. However, as of 19 June 2026 the problem remains unresolved, and the area continues to resemble a body of water rather than a football field.

Locals say they are forced to deal with the consequences of the flooding themselves, although they are convinced it is not their responsibility. People mention both Senkevych and Kim, because, they say, officials know about the situation.

While some report on their work, people at “Molodizhny” pump out the water themselves and are waiting not for more promises but for real results. However, the condition of the stadium shows that discussions at commissions, statements by municipal enterprises and the awareness of city and regional leaders have so far not turned into a systematic technical solution.

For the Korabelnyi district this is not just another communal inconvenience. It concerns the city’s sports infrastructure that children are supposed to use.

Pupils of Sports School No.5 show results at competitions and represent the city abroad, yet at home their main field has been flooded for months.

Residents expect not another delineation of responsibility between institutions, but a concrete plan: who should pump out the water, clean the adjacent water body, restore drainage and prevent repeated flooding.

Until such a decision is made, people are trying to save the stadium by their own efforts, which should be maintained and protected at the community’s expense.
