Footballers from the Korabelnyi District played in an international tournament in Berlin
The partner cities of Berlin's Tempelhof-Schöneberg district participated in the competitions
Mykolaiv joined the II International Youth Football Tournament, which took place from 22 to 24 May 2026 in Berlin.
This was reported on 25 May by the press service of the Mykolaiv City Council.
Partner cities of the Berlin district Tempelhof-Schöneberg took part in the competitions. In total, the tournament brought together 14 teams from Germany, Israel, France, Ukraine, Poland and Nigeria.
Mykolaiv was represented by graduates of Youth Sports School No. 5, which is located in the Korabelnyi District.
The participation of the young athletes in the international tournament was made possible thanks to the municipal partnership between Mykolaiv and the Berlin district Tempelhof-Schöneberg. This cooperation began in May 2025.
For the footballers from the Korabelnyi District, the trip to Berlin was not only a sporting competition but also an important opportunity to communicate, meet peers from other countries, and represent Mykolaiv at the international level.
Such projects show that municipal partnership can provide children with concrete opportunities even during the war: development, new contacts, sporting experience, and a sense that Mykolaiv remains part of the European space.
