Russia's nighttime strike on Kyiv: 4 dead, 58 injured, fires and destruction in seven districts
40 hospitalized, including two children; structural collapse of a 9-story building and destroyed floors of a polyclinic
At night Russia again struck the capital with drones and missiles: in Kyiv there was destruction and numerous fires, with fatalities and many injured, reported the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.
As of this morning, 4 people are confirmed dead. According to the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, there are 58 injured in the city, of whom 40 have been hospitalized, including 2 children.
Falling debris in several districts caused a number of fires and damages. In the Darnytskyi district a fire broke out at a gas station. In Obolonskyi debris fell near kindergartens, and there was also a fire at a construction site. In Shevchenkivskyi residential buildings were damaged; a blaze was recorded in a 24-storey building and there were fires in non-residential buildings.
In Sviatoshynskyi district flames engulfed a 5-storey residential building and the territory of non-residential development. In Podilskyi the structures of a 9-storey building partially collapsed, and fires broke out on roofs and in non-residential premises. In Holosiivskyi several floors of a polyclinic were destroyed and vehicles burned. In Solomianskyi the upper floors of residential buildings were damaged, with fires breaking out in high-rise buildings and private homes.
According to city authorities, rescue services and municipal crews are working at all affected locations, containing the fires and assisting residents.
“The capital has recorded widespread destruction, fires and casualties. Medics and rescuers are working on site,” — said Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko.
