Gold, silver and bronze: Mykolaiv rowers impressed with results in Uman
Athletes have shown that Mykolaiv maintains a high sporting level
From May 20 to 24, 2026, the Ukrainian championship in kayaking and canoeing among juniors and athletes under 23 was held in Uman.
Mykolaiv athletes demonstrated a high level of preparation and won a number of medals across different events.
This was reported by the Mykolaiv City Council.
Oleksandr Hartsev won first place in K-1 200 m, K-4 500 m, K-4 500 m, KX-2 200 m, KX-4 500 m, and also took third place in K-2 200 m.
Ksenia Tsompel claimed first place in K-4 200 m, XK-2 200 m, XK-4 500 m, second place in K-4 500 m, XK-2 500 m, and also third place in K-1 1000 m.
Volodymyr Kovryga was the winner in XS-2 500 m, took second place in XS-4 200 m and XS-4 500 m, and also won third place in C-4 200 m.
Dmytro Chernetskyi took second place in XS-2 500 m, and also third place in C-2 1000 m and C-4 500 m.
Ivan Karpenko took third place in KX-4 200 m and KX-4 500 m.
Maksym Malovanyy won third place in XS-4 200 m.
The athletes were prepared by coaches Halyna Zatuliviter, Inga Motorna, Olga Tsompel, Maksym Dmytriiev, Serhiy Levchenko, Larysa Nikolaieva and Yevhen Nikolaiev.
