A wanted man stabbed two servicemen while being escorted to the military recruitment center: both are in serious condition
The attack occurred on May 10 during a joint document check by the TCC and the police; law enforcement have not yet reported the suspect's detention
In the village of Baybuzivka in the Podilskyi district of Odesa region on May 10 a man with a knife attacked employees of the territorial recruitment center during mobilization activities, as a result of which two servicemen sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.
The Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center reported the incident, clarifying that during a joint patrol the center’s employees together with police officers stopped a man to check his military registration documents and found that he was wanted according to available databases.
According to the center, while further escorting this citizen to the territorial center to process administrative materials, he suddenly attacked members of the notification group, using a knife against the servicemen.
It was preliminarily established that the two servicemen received multiple stab wounds, after which they were hospitalized in serious condition.
Medics continue to fight for the victims’ lives, while law enforcement has initiated investigative actions on the fact of the attack and is collecting all necessary evidence for the legal assessment of the incident.
The Odesa Regional Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center published information about the incident on its Facebook page, where it promised to inform about the further course of the case; however, data regarding the status of the attacker have not been released.
