In Lviv, police detained a man who took a 13-year-old girl hostage and threatened her with a knife.
According to police, the incident occurred during the day on May 9 on Kavalerydze Street. A 43-year-old Lviv resident, upon seeing TCC servicemen, sprayed tear gas. After that the man grabbed a passing girl and pressed a knife to her neck. Through the joint actions of a police officer and TCC servicemen the attacker was quickly detained and the child freed. According to law enforcement, the girl was not injured.
Investigators opened a criminal case under the article on unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping. The perpetrator faces up to five years in prison.
