A man with a rifle alarmed shoppers in a supermarket; police determined the weapon was a toy
The incident occurred on May 2 at about 5:00 PM; the man was carrying a souvenir replica as a gift
At a supermarket in Voznesensk on Saturday, May 2, shoppers noticed a man with a rifle, but law enforcement found that it was a toy and did not pose any danger.
The police of the Mykolaiv region reported the established circumstances, posting the message on their Telegram channel.
Complainants said that in the city center of Voznesensk a man was walking through the supermarket’s sales area holding a rifle, and this behavior caused concern.
Earlier it was reported that the incident occurred in one of the ATB network stores in Voznesensk, to which the police arrived after receiving a call from citizens.
“Officers of the Voznesensk District Police Department, who promptly arrived at the scene, found that in the man’s hands – a toy in the form of an antique rifle, which posed no threat to life or health,” the Mykolaiv region police said.
During the conversation the man explained that he had bought the toy rifle as a gift and had no intention of committing illegal acts.
