11 children were poisoned at a kindergarten: police opened a case in Mykolaiv Oblast

In Voznesensk cases of children being poisoned were recorded at a preschool institution. Some of the children were hospitalized, and the police have already opened a criminal investigation.
Voznesensk District Police Department reported on April 23, 2026 that it is investigating the poisoning of children at one of the preschool education institutions.
According to medical professionals, the children were diagnosed with moderate gastroenterocolitis. As of now, the parents of 11 children who attended the facility have sought medical help.
Of them, 10 children are receiving inpatient treatment, and one more child is being treated on an outpatient basis. All the affected children are receiving necessary medical care, and their condition is being monitored by doctors.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 325 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of sanitary rules and norms regarding the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings.
Specialists from the Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine are conducting a sanitary-epidemiological investigation. In particular, they are checking the quality of food, storage conditions of products, the sanitary condition of the premises, and staff compliance with regulations.
