Knife to the neck during transport to the TCC: a double murder nearly occurred
The road to the mobilization center ended with a knife, a wrench, and a damaged service vehicle
In Chernivtsi Oblast law enforcement officers detained a 29-year-old local resident who is accused of an attempt to intentionally kill two servicemen of the district TCC and SP, as well as hooliganism. According to the investigation, the attack occurred April 20, 2026 near the village of Strumok of Dnistrovskyi Raion during the transportation of the man to the regional mobilization center. At some point the suspect drew a knife and inflicted several blows to the neck area of both servicemen. Then, law enforcement say, he damaged the windows and the body of the service vehicle, and during further resistance also struck one of the victims in the forearm with a wrench.
The victims in the case are servicemen aged 33 and 51. Both were promptly given medical assistance, and currently, according to official information, there is no threat to their lives. The attacker himself was located and detained by law enforcement in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Subsequently, the court imposed pretrial detention as a preventive measure.
He was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 15; subparagraphs 1 and 8 of Part 2 of Art. 115; and Part 3 of Art. 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The pre-trial investigation in the proceedings is being carried out by police investigators under the procedural supervision of prosecutors of the Dnistrovskyi District Prosecutor’s Office.
This story once again shows how explosive the topic of mobilization in Ukraine has become. Against the backdrop of numerous scandals, conflicts and social tension, some episodes are already crossing the line of ordinary resistance and turning into outright bloody violence. At the same time, the knife attack on TCC representatives in this case is qualified by law enforcement as an attempt to intentionally kill two people.
