Fled after the explosion: a family of displaced people lived in dangerous conditions in Mykolaiv
After the father's death in the Kherson region, the family, left without documents and income, received legal, social, and humanitarian assistance from the charitable organization "Vidnovlennia"
In Mykolaiv, during an inspection on Thursday, April 16, specialists from the child welfare service found a family of internally displaced persons who were living with a child in premises unfit for habitation, the administration of the Central District of the city of Mykolaiv reported.
According to the district administration, the family was living in a non-residential space that did not meet basic safety requirements, together with a 3-year-old girl.
A post by the administration of the Central District of the city of Mykolaiv, published on Facebook, stated:
“The 3-year-old girl was living without basic utilities and the ability to prepare food, which posed a real threat to her life and health.”
Social workers provided consultations on protecting the child’s rights and explained options for obtaining shelter with adequate conditions.
After the specialists intervened, the family received safe accommodation in the shelter of the charitable organization “Vidnovlennia”, humanitarian aid, as well as legal and social services to overcome the crisis.
