Houses and cars burned: 37 fires extinguished in Mykolaiv region in 24 hours

Between 5 September and the night of 6 September 2026, 37 fires were recorded in Mykolaiv Oblast. Six incidents occurred in the residential sector and three involved vehicles. A large share of the fires was related to burning dry vegetation.

In the village of Sofiivka in the Pervomaisk community of Pervomaisk district, fire engulfed dry grass and an outbuilding. The total area of the fire was 500 square meters. Firefighters were able to prevent the flames from spreading to a nearby residential house.

Several fires occurred in the Mykolaiv district:

• in the village of Stara Bohdanivka of the Radisnosadivska community shrubs and dry vegetation burned. The blaze spread to outbuildings located on summer cottage plots. The total burned area reached 1.5 hectares, but residential houses were saved;
• in the village of Petrovo-Solonikha of the Vesnyanska community an outbuilding caught fire. The fire was extinguished on an area of 25 square meters;
• in the village of Horokhivka of the Voskresenska community dry vegetation and an extension to a residential house burned. The fire covered 110 square meters. Firefighters protected the house itself from destruction.

Two more incidents were recorded in the Voznesensk district. In the village of Novoprystan of the Prybuzhanivka community an outbuilding burned with an area of 8 square meters. In the village of Novovolodymyrivka of the Yelanets community the roof of a residential house caught fire — the fire was extinguished on an area of 20 square meters.

Three vehicle fires occurred during the day. In some cases vehicle fires were accompanied by the spread of flames to dry vegetation:

• in the village of a Nissan Primera and dry vegetation burned. The total area of the fire was 15 square meters;
• in the city of Mykolaiv a Daewoo Lanos caught fire. The flames covered 3 square meters;
• in the village of Mykhailivka of the Kazanka community, Bashtanka district a ZAZ Slavuta, dry vegetation and shrubs burned. The total burned area reached 2 hectares.

The remaining incidents were fires in ecosystems. Altogether the fire swept across more than 34 hectares of open areas.

Units of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service (DSNS) of Ukraine in Mykolaiv Oblast responded to all reports. In some cases local fire protection units were involved in extinguishing the fires.
