Short-handed: Mykolaiv Zoo calls for volunteers to clean ponds

In Mykolaiv on 6 April 2026 at 09:00 the Mykolaiv Zoo is organizing a volunteer cleanup of the water bodies; meeting point — at the zoo’s central square, tools for the work will be provided on site.

The institution explains that due to a shortage of staff they are asking for help from concerned residents in order to prepare the ponds for the summer season in time. Participants will be provided with all necessary equipment.

The zoo’s press service announced the initiative, publishing an appeal on social media. More details — via the link: Facebook.

Thanks to your help the zoo’s ponds will be clean and attractive for visitors throughout the entire summer season. We will be grateful to everyone who takes part.

For reference the organizers indicate: date — 6 April 2026, start time — 09:00, meeting place — the zoo’s central square.

They also recommend bringing rubber boots if possible to make working near the water more comfortable.
