Up to $80,000 for assisting draft evaders: in Kyiv — 63 cases against enlistment office employees, says the Special Prosecutor's Office
About 20 investigations concern unlawful deprivation of liberty, and four employees of the TCC have already been notified of suspicions of violence
In Kyiv the head of the Kyiv Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office Artem Novov reported large-scale investigations into employees of territorial recruitment centers: for “help” in evading mobilization they allegedly demanded from $4 thousand to $80 thousand, a total of 63 criminal proceedings have been opened, of which about 20 are for illegal deprivation of liberty.
According to the prosecutor’s office, in various episodes the amounts of “rewards” range from $4 thousand to $80 thousand. The abuses are related to facilitating recognition of unfitness or removal from conscription for money.
Separately, investigators are checking reports of obstruction of lawyers’ work in territorial recruitment centers. In addition, 4 employees of these centers have already been notified of suspicions of using violent actions against mobilized persons.
