Children fell ill en masse after visiting the center - "HAPPY LAND" in Mykolaiv was urgently closed
Children were poisoned — the entertainment center was closed: "HAPPY LAND" suspended operations after an outbreak of infection
In Mykolaiv the children’s entertainment complex «Happy Land» suspended operations after reports of deteriorating health among child visitors. The facility’s administration reported March 18 on its page on Facebook. A comprehensive inspection is being conducted on the center’s premises together with regulatory services, as well as a full disinfection and general cleaning of all rooms.
Earlier, an outbreak of acute intestinal infection among children was recorded in the city. At first, 4 cases of illness were reported4, but later the number of those affected rose to 7, of whom 2 children were hospitalized.
A criminal investigation has been opened into the incident.
The head of the Mykolaiv district prosecutor’s office Hryhoriy Zinych stated the legal qualification of the incident:
“Information about the offense has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under the signs of Part 1 Art. 325 CC of Ukraine – violation of sanitary rules and norms regarding the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings”
The administration of «HAPPY LAND» promised to additionally report the results of the inspection and further decisions regarding the center’s operations.
