In Mykolaiv, four children were poisoned at an entertainment venue — an epidemiological investigation has been launched
Four cases of intestinal infection among children have been reported; specialists are investigating the circumstances and the source of the infection
The State Institution “Mykolaiv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine” reported 4 cases of intestinal infection among children in Mykolaiv.
To coordinate actions regarding this situation, the Emergency Response Center for public health emergencies convened, a meeting of which was held under the chairmanship of the acting general director of the center, Dmytro Makarov.
As informed by the head of the Department of Epidemiological Surveillance and Prevention of Infectious Diseases, Olena Rudenko, all the sick children had previously visited one of the entertainment establishments in the city of Mykolaiv.
Center specialists have already begun an epidemiological investigation and are implementing the necessary set of anti-epidemic measures to establish the source of infection and prevent further spread of the disease.
The institution’s statement emphasized that they are cooperating with relevant agencies and keeping the situation under control.
“Within the framework of intersectoral cooperation, the relevant services have been informed. The situation is under control,” – the statement reads.
