Great Britain will provide Ukraine with additional Storm Shadow cruise missiles to strike military facilities on Russian territory. Bloomberg reports the planned delivery, citing sources.

According to the publication’s sources, the transfer of the missiles was discussed by British Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They met in London on October 14. The number of missiles Ukraine will receive has not been disclosed.

The British side views strikes on Russian facilities involved in attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine as defensive.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg sources say that in recent weeks Russia has been increasing production of jet-powered drones and missiles to intensify its attacks on Ukraine.

“It is therefore very important that Kyiv be able to counter these actions,” Bloomberg sources stressed.

Storm Shadow missiles are British-made cruise missiles launched from aircraft. Their range exceeds 250 kilometers. Their low-altitude flight and high accuracy make them harder for Russian air defenses to intercept.

Great Britain has been supplying Ukraine with these weapons since 2023. Initial authorizations restricted their use to targets within Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders.

“In late 2024, Ukrainian armed forces expanded their use, deploying British cruise missiles for the first time against military targets on Russian territory,” Bloomberg reported.

In addition, Great Britain will provide Ukraine with air defense missiles worth 45 million pounds sterling. Delivery of some of these missiles will be expedited in preparation for winter.
