Russia struck CHP-5 in Kharkiv on October 11 — only a few hours had passed since U.S. President Donald Trump announced the start of an “energy truce” between Ukraine and the Russian Federation. The attack was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The head of state outlined the condition under which Ukraine is ready to stop striking Russian energy facilities: Russia must show the same willingness.

“Today, the President of the United States announced that an energy ceasefire has been reached. This is good news for everyone, and it is important that it becomes reality. Ukraine supports all genuine and reliable formats for a ceasefire and an end to the war,” emphasized President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

At the same time, the president said, Russia’s actions indicate the opposite. That day, Russian “Shaheds” and aerial bombs were in Ukrainian skies, and energy infrastructure came under attack.
