Parking spaces with a stroller: Ukraine introduces new rules for drivers with young children
Special spaces must be no more than 50 meters from the entrance
Drivers transporting children under three years old will have specially designated parking spaces in Ukraine. The new rules were approved by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers.
These parking spaces must meet specific requirements:
- they must make up at least 5% of all spaces in a parking lot, and in any case there must be at least one;
- the distance from the parking lot entrance to these spaces must not exceed 50 meters;
- the spaces will be marked with an image of a baby stroller.
The changes also provide for special road markings and an identification sign for vehicles. Drivers will be able to display this sign on their car if they have a document confirming the child’s age. Either a paper or electronic version will be accepted.
The new rules were announced today, October 9, by Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Vyhivskyi. He said the changes are intended to make parking more convenient for families with young children.
