Roe deer near apartment buildings: An unusual wild animal was spotted in the Korabelnyi District

In the Korabelnyi District of Mykolaiv residents noticed an animal unusual for an urban environment. This was written on April 13, 2026 on her Facebook page by local resident Natalya Aleksina.

According to her, in the area of the building at Novobudivna St., 2 an animal resembling a roe deer was running. The woman noted that the animal hid in the bushes, and residents did not know whom to report this situation to or what to do next.

For the Korabelnyi District such an appearance of a wild animal in a residential area is truly atypical. Especially when it concerns territory near apartment buildings, where children, pets and passersby may be nearby.

In such cases, residents should not try to catch the animal themselves, should not approach it closely, not scare it, not feed it, and not create crowds of people around it. If the wild animal appears injured, frightened, or cannot leave the area on its own, it is better to notify the appropriate services.

The appearance of a wild animal in the city may be related to searching for food, stress, noise, displacement from green zones or other factors. At the same time, only specialists can definitively determine what species the animal was and what condition it was in.

As reported by the Mykolaiv City Council, the roe deer was captured on the grounds of a garden association by rescuers. Unfortunately, the animal is injured — it was promptly handed over to zoo specialists.
