Kicked in the face and robbed of a phone and bag: robbery in Mykolaiv region
In Snihurivka, the attacker was located within an hour and formally charged
Yesterday afternoon, October 2, on Independence Street in Snihurivka a man was attacked and lost his mobile phone and a bag with documents. Police, within an hour, located the person involved in the robbery — a 24-year-old resident of the Snihurivka community. He has already been notified of suspicion. This was reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Police.
The victim himself, who is also 24 years old, called the police emergency line 102. He said that an unknown person struck him, took his belongings and fled in an unknown direction. An investigative-operational team and operatives from Police Station No. 2 of the Bashtanka District Police Department arrived at the scene. During initial investigative and search measures they found the taken property near the scene of the attack and identified the man.
According to the suspect, he was intoxicated, kicked the victim in the face, and then took the phone and a bag containing personal documents. Realizing the consequences and fearing exposure, the man decided to immediately get rid of the stolen items and threw the belongings nearby.
Under the procedural guidance of the Snihurivka Department of the Bashtanka District Prosecutor’s Office, the police notified the man of suspicion under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This concerns robbery under martial law, combined with violence that is not dangerous to the victim’s health. The maximum penalty is 10 years imprisonment.
A court is expected to decide on a preventive measure for the suspect in the near future. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
