A 16-year-old motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a Volkswagen in the Mykolaiv region

In the settlement of Kazanka in Mykolaiv Oblast on October 2 at around 17:00, a Volkswagen CROZZ PRO car and a Spark motorcycle collided. As a result of the accident, the 16-year-old motorcycle rider sustained injuries and was taken to a medical facility.

According to the Mykolaiv Regional Police, the crash occurred near a gas station on highway H-11 «Dnipro — Mykolaiv». The car was driven by a 49-year-old man. A 16-year-old passenger was riding with the motorcycle driver — he was not injured.

Investigators have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — violation of traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons who drive vehicles. The sanction provides for up to three years of restriction of liberty with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.

The causes of the collision and all circumstances of the crash are still being determined. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
