100,000 jobs for veterans, Kim announced
They plan to simplify hiring and review legal restrictions for businesses
Ministry of Veterans Affairs, together with a charitable foundation, is preparing a program that envisages the creation of 100 thousand jobs for veterans. Minister Vitaliy Kim spoke about these plans in an interview with Ukrinform.
The initiative is intended to combine employment with the opportunity to acquire a new profession in demand on the labor market. At the same time, the ministry is working on changes to the regulatory framework to make it easier for businesses to hire veterans.
In particular, this concerns professions that currently have legal restrictions on access to work. It is these rules that are planned to be reviewed as part of the preparation of the changes.
State programs have already yielded results in veteran entrepreneurship: thanks to them, veteran-owned businesses have created almost 2.5 thousand jobs.
The minister acknowledged that achieving the declared scale of the new program will be difficult. At the same time, he said, the state’s task is to ensure conditions under which veterans can work officially, develop their own businesses, and participate in the reconstruction of the economy.
