Instead of Pioneer neckerchiefs — Plast neckerchiefs: Plast kicked off the New Year in Mykolaiv
Plast scouts also received badges for the skills they acquired and for their activity
A new Plast year was ceremonially opened recently in Mykolaiv. During the assembly, newcomers to “Plast” were presented with Plast neckerchiefs and patches, and Plast members were recognized for acquired skills and activity.
The opening was attended by representatives of:
- the Youth Policy Department;
- the Council on Youth Policy under the Mayor of Mykolaiv.
The head of the Youth Policy Department, Arsen Gasparyan, during the event emphasized the opportunities that “Plast” provides to young people. This includes leadership development, teamwork, readiness to take responsibility, as well as learning about Ukrainian history and traditions. According to him, it is important for the city to support such initiatives and expand opportunities for the development of young people from Mykolaiv.
The opening of the new Plast year took place after the recent signing of a memorandum between Mykolaiv and “Plast” on cooperation in the education/upbringing of youth. The partnership is intended to combine efforts for national-patriotic education, the comprehensive development of young people, the revival of Ukrainian traditions, and the involvement of youth in the active civic life of the community.
