5-year-old Matvii got lost in a forest in the Mykolaiv region

In the forest tract near the village of Katerynka in the Kamyanomostivska community of Pervomaiskyi district, Matvii, whom the police describe as a 5-year-old boy, has gone missing. The parents reported their son’s disappearance at around 18:00 on September 30. At the time of the announcement, a large-scale search operation was underway in the Mykolaiv region.

According to preliminary police information, the boy, born in 2020, got lost while walking in the forest with his parents. The search began immediately after the family’s report; the regional police department is overseeing its progress.

Police officers, rescuers and servicemen are involved in the search operation. They are searching the settlement, the forest area and the adjacent territories.

Description of Matvii and the clothes he was wearing when he disappeared:

• short stature, medium build;
• short light-brown hair and light-colored eyes;
• the boy does not speak;
• a black jacket, light trousers and black sneakers.
