An infant was thrown from the sixth floor: the mother has been notified of suspicion
A man went to register his daughter; while he was away, a tragedy occurred in the apartment
In the city of Boryspil in the Kyiv region police have informed a 29-year-old woman of suspicion of committing intentional murder of her newborn child. According to law enforcement, the newborn girl fell from the balcony of an apartment on the sixth floor, suffered severe bodily injuries and later died in hospital.
According to the investigation materials, September 3, 2026 the woman gave birth to a live girl in hospital. After discharge the family returned home to Boryspil. According to police, September 8 the man went to the civil registry office to register the birth of his daughter. In the apartment the woman remained alone with the infant. The investigation believes that after this the mother went out onto the balcony and threw the child from the sixth floor. The girl suffered severe injuries. She was taken to hospital, but medics were unable to save the child.
Investigators under the procedural guidance of the Boryspil District Prosecutor’s Office informed the 29-year-old woman of suspicion of intentionally killing her newborn child immediately after childbirth — under Article 117 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years.
The investigation is ongoing. According to media reports, The woman refuses to give testimony. This circumstance by itself is not proof of her guilt — the final legal assessment of the events must be given by the court.
Earlier, September 9, the police reported only the fall of the newborn child from the sixth floor and noted that at the time of the tragedy the infant was on the balcony with the mother. After carrying out investigative actions law enforcement announced suspicion of intentional murder
