A Russian drone attacked a passenger train in Zaporizhzhia: a conductor was killed
Passengers were evacuated in time before the attack on the carriages
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian drone attacked a passenger electric train. The train attendant of the «Dnipro—Zaporizhzhia» train that was hit was killed. This was reported by the State Emergency Service (DSNS) and Ukrzaliznytsia.
Passengers were evacuated before the attack. Ukrzaliznytsia staff helped people leave the train, which helped save them.
After the drone struck, one of the electric train’s carriages caught fire. Approximately half an hour later, Russian forces attacked the formation again, and a fire broke out in another carriage.
Rescuers arrived on the scene and began extinguishing the blaze. Their work was complicated by the threat of further strikes: after repeated attacks, DSNS personnel had to temporarily stop firefighting and move to shelters.
Ukrzaliznytsia clarified that the train attendant of the «Dnipro—Zaporizhzhia» train that was struck was killed.
Previously, Russian drones had already attacked a passenger train in the Zaporizhzhia region. Then, passengers were also evacuated before the strike.
