In Mykolaiv, a man sold a grenade launcher, the body of an F-1 grenade, and a detonator
A 47-year-old local man was detained immediately after the sale
In Mykolaiv, police detained a 47-year-old city resident immediately after the sale of weapons and ammunition. According to the investigation, the man sold arms for money within a limited circle of people.
During the latest sale he handed over the body of an F-1 grenade, a detonator for it, and a grenade launcher. At the scene, law enforcement officers seized the money obtained from the illegal sale. The seized items were sent for the appropriate examinations.
The criminal activity was halted by investigators and operatives of the Mykolaiv District Police Department with the involvement of specialists from the regional police explosive ordnance disposal service and under the procedural supervision of the Mykolaiv City District Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspect was detained in procedural order in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, notified him of suspicion in committing two criminal acts under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosive substances.
For the offense, the man faces up to seven years of imprisonment. A court will soon decide on the suspect’s preventive measure.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the channels through which the ammunition reached the suspect. The pre-trial investigation continues.
