Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine is introducing a strict austerity regime for budget funds that are not intended for defense. According to Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi, this has already allowed them to find 70 billion hryvnias. The government plans to allocate all of these funds to the needs of the army.

The head of government said this during a session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

The government is introducing a strict austerity regime for budget funds that are not assigned to defense needs. As a result, we have already found 70 billion in savings, which will be fully directed to defense needs, — he said.

The savings concern expenditures not related to defense. At the same time, the government says it will meet all social obligations, including ensuring the payment of pensions and salaries.

At the same time, we must fulfill all necessary social obligations. Therefore, there will be no problems with pensions and salaries, — the prime minister assured.

While preparing the state budget for 2027, the government plans to adhere to the principle of maximum savings. Serhii Koretskyi called on members of parliament to participate in forming next year’s budget.

Earlier it was reported that the government directed an additional 1 billion hryvnias to restore critical and social infrastructure in 16 regions.
