Over 18 hectares burned in the Mykolaiv region in one day
The fire engulfed the forests, the field, and the car
20 August and on the night of 21 August in Mykolaiv Oblast 24 fires were registered. The total area burned exceeded 18 hectares.
Two fires occurred in the residential sector — outbuildings burned in Oleksandrivka and Blahodatne.
In Pivdennoukrainsk a VOLKSWAGEN Sharan caught fire. Rescuers extinguished the blaze over an area of 6 sq m and prevented the spread of fire to three neighboring vehicles.
Two more fires occurred in forest areas. On the territory of the Novoodeske Forest District a coniferous litter burned over an area of 1.5 ha, and in the mixed forest tract «Nechayanske» — over an area of 2 ha.
Other ignitions occurred in open areas: dry vegetation, shrubs, post-harvest residues and garbage burned. Fire was also recorded at a municipal solid waste landfill.
