In July the Russian Federation lost 42,860 military personnel — a 2026 record; over seven months the total is already 238,000, the General Staff says

In July 2026 Russian forces lost 42 860 servicemen, which became the highest monthly figure since the beginning of 2026, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The information was published on the General Staff’s official channel on Telegram, which stated that July losses exceeded the results of previous months of the current year.

According to Ukrainian command estimates, the monthly dynamics of Russian army losses in 2026 are as follows.

• January — 31 710;
• February — 26 090;
• March — 31 960;
• April — 32 980;
• May — 33 760;
• June — 39 290;
• July — 42 860 (record).

In total, over the first 7 months of 2026 Russia’s personnel losses amounted to 238 650 people.

The July figure exceeded the June result of 39 290 and became the highest since the start of 2026, indicating a further increase in the enemy’s monthly losses.
