Lviv erupts into conflict with the TCC: crowd overturns military vehicle
The authorities promise to punish the attackers, but will also investigate the military
In Lviv, a high-profile conflict erupted involving employees of the TCC and civilians. The day before, a video circulated online showing people blocking a military service vehicle and later overturning it. The incident occurred in the Sykhiv district of the city.
On social media, it was claimed that everything began over the detention of a 20-year-old man. At the same time, the official version of the Lviv regional TCC and SS differs significantly: they stated that on July 8 at around 21:30 in Lviv, on Stryiska Street, during notification activities together with representatives of the National Police a citizen was stopped for inspection of his military registration documents.
According to the TCC, during the check it was discovered that this citizen had been in breach of military registration since 12.06.2026. After that he was taken to the TCC and SS. At the time of the official statement, the person liable for military service, who, according to the TCC, had violated the rules of military registration, was sent to undergo a VLK (military medical commission).
Separately, the TCC reported that another notification team remained at the scene. It was that team, according to the official version, that was blocked by a group of unknown persons. The statement says these people surrounded the service transport of the servicemen, behaved aggressively, damaged it and ultimately overturned the service vehicle.
The police arrived at the scene. Law enforcement officers must provide a legal assessment of all circumstances of the incident. The TCC stated that those responsible will face the penalties provided by law.
After the incident, the Lviv Regional Military Administration (Lviv OVA) held an urgent meeting with law enforcement regarding the blocking of the TCC vehicle in Sykhiv. The head of the Lviv OVA, Maksym Kozytskyi, said that the primary task is to ensure public order.
“The primary task is to ensure public order! All those who committed offenses, including obstructing the activities of servicemen, must be identified and brought to account”
At the same time, the Lviv regional TCC and SS will conduct an internal investigation into the lawfulness of the actions of its employees during the notification of a citizen born in 1996, who, according to the official version, was wanted.
The TCC itself also stated that the only enemy of Ukraine is the Russian Federation, which unleashed the war in 2014 and in 2022 began a full-scale invasion. They emphasized that the enemy is interested in inflaming internal conflicts in Ukraine because it has no successes on the battlefield.
At the same time, this incident again highlighted a painful problem: public tension around mobilization is increasing, and each such story requires not only punishment of the guilty but also an honest review of the actions of all parties — both civilians and representatives of the TCC and the police.
