A metal rod pierced her leg: police officers rescued a girl after a fatal traffic accident
They didn't drive past the tragedy: two patrol officers from Mykolaiv helped the injured
Mykolaiv patrol officers Artur Khobzei and Volodymyr Krasnoshchok, who were on leave, rescued a 15-year-old girl after a major road accident on highway M-14 Odesa — Melitopol — Novoazovsk near the village of Krasne. The officers were passing the crash site by chance. Seeing the mangled bus, they immediately stopped and rushed to help the victims.
In the cabin the officers found a 15-year-old girl whose leg had been pierced through by a metal rod. It impeded evacuation and could have caused further injuries. The officers secured the metal element, carefully freed the teenager, carried her to a safe place and stopped the bleeding. After that the girl was handed over to a medical team. The patrol officers also provided first aid to other injured people and supported them until emergency services arrived.

It was a fatal accident that occurred on the morning of 4 July 2026 between the villages of Krasne and Nechayane. A Mercedes Sprinter passenger minibus overturned and collided with a Volvo truck. Twelve people died in the accident, and six others were injured. The police detained the driver of a Nissan Murano who, according to preliminary information from law enforcement, may have provoked the dangerous situation.
