160 land decisions in a package: the mayor of Mykolaiv recused himself from voting due to a conflict of interest
Support was secured by 33 "yes" votes at the session on June 30
In Mykolaiv during the session on June 30 deputies approved a package of 160 land issues in a single vote, and Mayor Oleksandr Senkevych declared a conflict of interest and abstained from participating in the decision.
Before proceeding to the vote, at the session of the Mykolaiv City Council all land projects were combined into a single package and put forward for consideration as one agenda item.
The mayor said he would not take part in the vote due to the presence in the package of an item on allocating a land plot for a shopping center to a person from whom his family rents housing.
“So that there would be no questions later,” explained Oleksandr Senkevych.
After this statement the mayor declined to vote on the package of land decisions.
As a result, the package of 160 land decisions was supported by 33 deputies.
