Former opponent of Senkevych, Zadyrko, became an adviser on veterans' affairs and on issues concerning families of the fallen and of prisoners

The order was signed by First Deputy Mayor Vitaliy Lukov; Zadyrko announced the appointment on Facebook and said he was open to initiatives

Former candidate for the post of mayor of Mykolaiv, Hennadiy Zadyrko, has been appointed an external adviser to the city head Oleksandr Senkevych on veterans, families of the deceased and prisoners; this was reported in his post on Facebook.

In the social media post, Hennadiy Zadyrko acknowledged that he may face criticism, but called his decision deliberate and balanced, emphasizing the priority of issues related to the war, support for veterans, the uninterrupted functioning of the city, as well as the health and safety of citizens, and stated his readiness to work and openness to joint initiatives and cooperation.

The appointment was formalized by an order signed by First Deputy Mayor Vitaliy Lukov, with the document referring to the Regulations on the service of external advisers and the provisions of the Law “On Local Self-Government in Ukraine”.

«With the aim of expanding ties with the public, in accordance with the Regulations on the service of external advisers to the mayor, approved by the mayor’s order dated 15.11.2013223рк, guided by subparagraphs 19, 20 hour 4 of Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine “On Local Self-Government in Ukraine”: Include in the established service Hennadiy Oleksandrovych Zadyrko as a non-staff adviser to the mayor on veterans, families of the deceased and prisoners», — stated the order signed by First Deputy Mayor Vitaliy Lukov.

Hennadiy Oleksandrovych Zadyrko is a Ukrainian politician and journalist, a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 6th convocation; he was born on 13 September 1967 in the village of Lenino (Crimea) and graduated from the Mykolaiv State Pedagogical Institute in 1991, earning a degree from the Faculty of History.

In the 1990s and in the early 2000s he worked in journalism: he was a correspondent and the head of the Mykolaiv television company «NIS-TV».

From 2007 to 2012 he was elected a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the 6th convocation on the BYuT (the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc) list and served on the Committee on Transport and Communications.

He took part in several election campaigns in Mykolaiv Oblast, ran for the Verkhovna Rada in single-member constituencies, and in 2010 was a candidate in the local elections in Mykolaiv.
