In Mykolaiv the season of sightseeing boat trips will start this coming weekend on a new route along the Southern Bug between Varvarivka and Matviivka; the first trips are scheduled for 23.05 and 24.05, according to local historian and guide Tetiana Hubska.
This year’s trips will depart from Nyzhnii BAM with access to the Southern Bug’s waters in the direction between Varvarivka and Matviivka; the route will last 1.5 hours, and the participation fee is 450 hryvnias per person.
During the boat trip, participants will learn about the steppe landscape of the Mykolaiv region with its burial mounds and treasures, Cossack churches and notable figures of the 18th–19th centuries, will hear why Varvarivka was once called “Lambertivka,” and why present-day Matviivka was called “Chervone,” who owned these lands 200 years ago and what artifacts archaeologists have found on the banks of the Southern Bug.
According to Tetiana Hubska, on Saturday 23.05 a departure is scheduled at 15:40.
On Sunday 24.05 departures are scheduled for 15:40 and 17:30.
