In Ukraine, pensioners aged 80 and over who live alone and require constant care can apply for a monthly pension supplement of 1038 UAH, according to a Novyny.LIVE report citing data from the Pension Fund of Ukraine, while the payment is not assigned automatically.

The supplement is intended for elderly people who need constant third-party care and is provided only upon the pensioner’s application to a PFU service center.

The provision is established by law No.1727: the right applies to people living alone aged 80 and over who receive an age pension. Those considered to be living alone are pensioners who do not have able-bodied relatives obligated to support them, regardless of where such relatives live.

The supplement amount is 40% of the subsistence minimum for persons who have lost their ability to work. In 2026 this minimum equals 2595 UAH, so the monthly payment is 1038 UAH.

To be granted the assistance, the pensioner must meet the conditions: be older than 80, live independently, have no able-bodied relatives, and have a conclusion from the medical consultative commission (MCC) stating the need for permanent care.

The procedure includes visiting a doctor, undergoing the medical consultative commission, after which an application should be submitted to a Pension Fund service center. Required documents include a passport, identification code, medical certificate from the MCC, and a declaration of income, and if necessary — a certificate of family composition or proof of living independently.
