Passenger trains again targeted: the enemy attacked rolling stock in Mykolaiv region
Locomotive damaged, but service continued: Ukrzaliznytsia managed to get by again
As reported on May 7 2026 by Ukrzaliznytsia, Russian forces again attacked passenger rolling stock. This time the strike occurred in Mykolaiv region. A locomotive was damaged as a result of the attack. At the same time all people were safe and did not sustain injuries. After the air raid alert ended in the region, railway workers quickly found a reserve locomotive so as not to stop traffic in the frontline direction.
As a result, train No.101/102 Mykolaiv – Lozova departed with a delay of +2:11, and train No.206 Mykolaiv – Kherson – with a delay of +1:11, respectively.
For residents of Mykolaiv, in particular the Korabelnyi District, such reports are important not only because of timetable delays. The railway remains one of the key means of connection with other regions, especially in wartime, when some routes run close to dangerous areas.
“We are not stopping traffic in frontline regions, but ask everyone to be attentive and heed the train crew’s instructions”, – emphasized Ukrzaliznytsia.
