In the Mykolaiv region, isolated cases of remote mining and the dropping of propaganda leaflets from Russian drones have been recorded, head of the regional state administration Vitaliy Kim said during a broadcast on ICTV.

The official explained that the intensity of enemy attacks generally remains at the previous level, but the methods of their execution are changing: in particular, instead of striking infrastructure, the occupiers are resorting to information-psychological tactics using UAVs.

“There are isolated cases of remote mining, mostly in Kherson region and the beginning of Mykolaiv region. We have roads with nets. And, answering the question, the number of strikes has not changed, the nature of the strikes has somewhat changed. For example, today they scattered propaganda leaflets from two ‘Molniya’ [lightning] drones. I interpret this as panic, because these leaflets are laughable to us. Although let them use them — it’s better that non-strike ‘Molniya’ fly with leaflets than strike ones,” — said head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim.

Kim noted that these materials are aimed against the Ukrainian authorities and contain recruitment appeals with promises of rewards for completing tasks, and law enforcement agencies and the SBU are already collecting and analyzing the relevant evidence.

“The SBU and police are already processing these materials; this is also happening in the east. There is a transition to bots there, where they collect potential agents, they want to find people to obtain information for their actions. This will hardly work. We are also monitoring and understanding this,” — said head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim.

On the eve of 9 May, there was an increase in the dropping of propaganda materials from drones in Ukraine’s border areas.
