Mykolaiv received generators for the next winter with the support of the "Blue-Yellow Cross" fund
The city received 16 generators for schools and kindergartens
In Mykolaiv the city received another batch of equipment to operate in conditions of possible power outages, as reported on April 22, 2026 by the Mykolaiv City Council. The charitable foundation “Blue-Yellow Cross” handed over to the community 16 generators, which are intended to help ensure the stable functioning of municipal institutions during the winter period. Most of the equipment is planned to be used in educational institutions — primarily in schools and kindergartens.
To Mykolaiv also came the head of the foundation, Khrystyna Famova. She took part in a meeting with Deputy Mayor Anatoliy Petrov. Besides him, present in the discussion were Deputy Director of the Mayor’s Department Olena Dmytrychenko and Head of the Education Department Hanna Lychko. During the talks they discussed not only the aid already provided, but also the further expansion of cooperation in the fields of education, medicine and energy.
The fund “Blue-Yellow Cross” has been operating since 2014. It was founded by the German-Ukrainian public organization “Blau-Gelbes Kreuz“, and today one of its key areas of activity remains support for Ukraine in the energy, education, medical and cultural spheres. Against the backdrop of the constant threat of strikes on infrastructure, such assistance for frontline Mykolaiv remains not just useful, but critically important.
The importance of this assistance was spoken about at the meeting by Deputy Mayor Anatoliy Petrov, who emphasized the difficult experience of last winter and the need to prepare in advance for new challenges.
“For us it is important to ensure the energy resilience of the city’s facilities. The provided equipment will be a significant reinforcement of our capacities”, – noted the deputy mayor.
He also thanked the foundation’s team for supporting the community during an extremely difficult time for the city. Separately, the parties discussed the possibility of launching new joint initiatives related to medicine, education and strengthening energy security.
